Millie is a rock star. She has worked for PASO Magazine for more than a decade, and is both a writer and an ad consultant for us.
We are proud to have writers like Millie Drum as a member of the PASO Magazine team!
Millie Drum discovered Paso Robles several years before relocating in 1989. Savoring small town living, it didn’t take long for her to feel right at home; putting her marketing, merchandising and sales background to work. From working for small “mom and pop” retail clothing stores, managing a Jones New York factory outlet store in Atascadero, to her own store, Millie’s in downtown Paso Robles, customer service and reaching out to the community was always a priority. Her passion for writing started early with teenage diaries that turned into personal journals spanning over 45 years of her life. Millie shared her infatuation with journaling by facilitating journaling workshops and retreats through the Wellness Kitchen and Resource Center and the Hearst Cancer Resource Center. Writing and advertising sales became a profession through local publications; the Country News Press in 1997 and currently with the Paso Magazine since 2003. Along with coordinating effective advertising, Millie’s writing style creates long-standing relationships with her clients and the community through her specialties; business articles, feature/human interest stories and monthly columns. Fun Fact from a writer’s perspective: Coffee is most effective between 9:30 and 11:30 am. Millie’s first pot perks at 6 am.
